My Archives are archeological findings from my interested site of Malabar Battery.

They serve as a collective memory bank. Hundreds of layers of marks and paintings from this abandoned yet inhabited site.

Starting from the soldiers in 1943 during World War 2 to the contemporary graffiti artists, they each leave a layer and trace of history.

In these layers, I personally hold history, as i have contributed to this visiting and painting the site. To me, these findings hold memory and experience from historical encounters.

Through these instruments,

This website itself holds the collection and historical records relating the the Malabar Battery.

These Archives are found archeology from the site of the Malabar Headland.

There is no wall present here, This is layers upon layers of paint.

In this layers I personally may have several layers of paint.

To me, they open up a sensual experience of smell from the paint and trigger nostalgia.

I experimented with using table number holders to pin up the archeological finding to elevate its status.

To me, these referenced too close. I took the base off the table numbers and this changed the context of the object.

The combination of the two became a dialectic between the two.
